Hello again gang, this post is meant as a wrap up to the Twitter How To monetize Your Twitter Account, Twittad Live Experiment. You can find the previous post in the experiment here.
However, I will be revisiting Twittad in the very near future to show you how you can make the most of Twittad as an advertiser.
So I have successfully let out my Twitter background, I did not lose a huge number of followers because of the advertising and I have not seen a decline in new followers either. Most importantly the small fee that I let my background for, has gone into my account so no worries there.
What have I got left up my sleeve to help you sell your Twitter background and start monitizing your Tweets?
For now, one cool trick!
Let me explain, when you click through to the Twittad site from this site or a link I have posted on Twitter, you will land on this page;
Yes, it is an affiliate link.
( For those that do not know, an affiliate link tracks who refered you to a product or service. If you then make a purchase the retailer or service provider then pays the referer a commision. This does not cause you to pay any more for your purchase, it comes out of the retailers take. In fact often you will find bonus codes via affiliates actually giving you a discount on the retailers regular price. )
So full disclosure and honesty, I have an affiliate account with Twittad and if you intend to rent your Twitter background you should to!
Why?
Because if if somebody I refer to Twittad buys my Twitter background or any other Twitter backgrounds, I will receive an additional 25% of the 5% Twittad charge advertisers.
NOTE; I will also receive this commision on any future purchases by the advertiser.
This small commision is not very much, but if you are selling your Twitter background for advertising you really need to be promoting that your accounts background is available, and linking to Twittad to show possible advertisers where to purchase this great offer of advertising you have for them.
Soooo, use the referal link you get when you sign up to Twittad every time you promote your sale.
There is nothing underhand about this. Like me if you are using the service yourself, and suggesting that others should to ( you want them to buy your background right? ) it is obviously a decent, trust worthy service that you are happy to promote.

Remember, if you want to get an advertiser to take interest make sure you are active on Twitter, if you have a blog or web site let your visitors know and as you are putting in the effort to promote Twittad’s service in the process of offering your Twitter background for advertising use your affiliate link, which you can find on this page of your Twittad account;
I do have one more secret tip for how to monitize your Twitter account by selling your background space, but that will have to wait until it is fully tested during the next Twitter How To Live Experiment. Which will be looking at using Twittad from an advertisers point of view.
